That's outrageous! Well, except for shooing away the clowns and mimes. If I were mayor and had some actual authority to abuse, I might do the same. They annoy me for some reason.

(I'm lucky to live in Provincetown where we have lovely singing drag queens and hunky male strippers who walk around in their underwear, but very little in the way of clowns or mimes).

Heeeenry!

Sadly, I remember seeing that episode (Happy Days) when I was 5 or 6 and thinking it was the most awesome thing ever.

I also remember seeing the Arrested Development episode just a couple years ago. My how my understanding of the world has changed :P

Hello,

I knit prayers shawls- averaging one or two a week.
The best pattern I have found is a simple but beautiful pattern. Even for a notice knitter.
Cast on 63, begin with knit three, then perl three, and continue in k3, p3 pattern until last three which should be knit stitches. Flip over, start with knit 3 again in same pattern. This way you always start with knit and end with knit.

This is an alternated moss stitch. Use soft yarns, I personally like Simply Soft. I hope this helps. Keep practicing, this is such an important ministry.

Hiya, very late comment... came here from philofaxy and just wanted to say a big HELL YES to all your points above - I was born bang on 1970 in Britain, and I still have the "bad old days" fresh in my mind, from the movies & TV I saw growing up.

Girls born after about '75 really don't get it - and that's pretty sad, because the problems haven't gone away, they've just mutated, and the ugly stuff is covered with a coating of media-inspired BS - the whole "size zero" thing being one case in point, since how the f~@< can women achieve and take positions of power, if they're half-starved?!

Ancel Keys demonstrated once and for all back in the 40's that semi-starvation makes people incapable of rational thought, instead driving them into an obsession with food, bodies and minutiae - now that same thing, basic malnutrition, is marketed to young women as a desirable lifestyle, go figure on what that will do to their brains.

Oooh, went off on one there didn't I? :) Apologies - I just really do agree with your point, and I like Wil's blog too, but that "psycho ex-girlfriend" thing was just lame.

Real Taiji uses weighted turns, not unweighted ones. Unweighted turns were designed to offer relief to severely unhealthy, immobile persons. So, if you have some fashion of strength and mobility, try Real Taiji, not the watered down, geriatric kind.

Allo --
Perhaps you could secretly rehearse it, and use it as a surprise encore....
I love the fact that they gave dear Dr. Hawking his own "boom-de-ya-da"....
